Angus 1964

In October 1964 Angus was given this hat by an uncle of his school-friend, Robert Raymond, who had served on MV Havengore (a Port of London Authority survey launch) which had carried Winston Churchill’s coffin up The Thames to the state funeral.

Christmas at South Benfleet, 1964, with Sarah Rolfe. Note the rather sparse advent calendar on the light-switch. The original photo also shows an electric bar-heater as Cornercroft didn’t have central heating. Ice patterns on the inside of the leaded-windows was common-place.
