Very wet. Found shopping centre and had a meal and dried off. Out in the rain again. Wet through.
People on trip to Grimmal waterfall never saw them as delayed by landslides in the pass. Snow on “our mountain.” 10cm on Brenner Pass in one hour!
Had superb evening bowling with four teams of English/Scottish: ordinary bowling, alternate hand, through legs, ‘mickey mouse’ etc. Schnapps for Marg who managed a strike. Schnapps for whole team afterwards.
Walk via Pirchmoos Church. Rained on and off but good to be out. Detoured on way back to waterfall. Grand view after walking down rather steep slope. Tremendous rush of water after all the rain. Walked on towards bridge but found path had been breached by a fall so turned back.
Sore feet again! Gus had his cake and coffee 38 sch. Black Forest Gateau rather unlike our imitation.
Early tea then out on a Hunters Walk with 30 of us trekking up into the hills for an hour and half. Funny guide, like a gnome! Met at Almhouse with a schnapps in a little bottle. Inside had a beer and a platter of cheeses, rye bread and speck – a type of bacon. Omelette and chips for supper, strawberry mousse. Back to Soll in the dark by light of storm lamps. Had chocolate with cream dolloped on it – too strong for me!

Portorož, Yugoslavia (now Slovenia)

Picked up from Ingeborg Hotel then off to Yugoslavia. Straight onto beach: beach 200 dinar for the day. Not bad.
Walked to Piran and had enourmous 4 scoop ice-cream 100 dinar each. Piran is old and real. Narrow streets, local people and tourists. Beautiful views.
Very humid.
Lay on neach all day.
Quiter night than usual… until 5.00 woken by incredible alarm noise. Some doubt over whether it was a fire alarm but no-one seemed to be moving. Appeared to be a boat alarm and some people jumped on it until it sunk and stopped.
